Description

*I've updated my Gemsona's design, and overall appearance. I hope you enjoy! ^_^

Backstory:
Black Moon Stone is a gem who was made back long ago when the Kindergarten was still active. Much like Amethyst, she too was originally created to be a corrupted gem. But unlike Amethyst, Black Moon Stone actually has a corrupted Gem form which she struggles to keep control of.

Black Moon Stone and her kind were created by Homeworld during the Gem War, they were used mainly as shock troopers and soldiers who specialized in close combat. But unlike other gems, the Moon Stones are heavily affected by the Earth's moon. Whenever the moon is in a particular phase or orbit (i.e. Full Moon) it actually causes Moon Stones to experience a tremendous increase of energy in their gems. But they cannot control this power and it causes them to transform into corrupted Gem monsters. Because of this, Homeworld chose to only select a few Moon Stones to train as Shock troopers, the rest were treated as nothing more than pet monsters that they'd unleash onto the rebel gems. Black Moon Stone was originally one of these rejects, who would always be locked up only to be released merely to transform and attack anything she saw. She, however, actually ended up becoming one of the strongest of these gem monsters. In her time, she destroyed many Rebel Gems and killed a lot of humans as well. It is because of this high kill streak is how she earned her original name, BLOOD Moon Stone. Whenever she returned her normal form, Black Moon Stone was horrified to learn of her actions and the lives she had taken as a beast. She constantly pleaded with Homeworld Gems to not let her become a monster, much to her dismay as they would continue to force her to go on killing sprees. However, over time, she started to become more uncontrollable and even started attacking Homeworld Gems. Because of this, Homeworld feared she might start becoming a problem and opted to destroy her. The night they planned to destroy her, however, Blood Moon Stone did not return from her nightly rampage. She in fact, had stumbled onto a nearby town (Beach City) and started to attack the humans living there at the time. There, she encountered Rose Quartz and the Crystal Gems who managed to subdue her until sunrise when she returned to normal. Rose, having no idea at the time that these particular gem monsters were not completely corrupted, decided to take the Moon Stone in. She and the other Crystal Gems managed to keep her secure, and Homeworld eventually assumed their monster had finally been killed.

Blood Moon Stone, who by now was in absolute guilt over the deaths she had caused, asked Rose if she could destroy her so that Homeworld could no longer use her to endanger anymore people. Rose refused and told her she is not a monster and is not responsible for what Homeworld made her do. Blood Moon, who now despised Homeworld for making her into a killing machine against her will, decided to stay with Rose and the other Crystal Gems and learn how to fight as a Gem warrior rather than a monster. Over time, she became a skilled fighter and fought alongside the Rebel Gems in many battles and eventually changed her name to Black Moon Stone. Rose Quartz gave her a magic amulet, which when worn allows Black Moon Stone to become immune to the effects of the Lunar Phases and not turn into her monster form (she'll also not turn into a monster as long as she's inside the Crystal Gem temple. Many Rebel Gems resented her presence at first, but eventually accepted her when they came to understand what Homeworld did to her and her kind. Unfortunately though, Black Moon Stone was never able to save anymore of her kind. The elite rank Moon Stones were treated differently by home world, so they would never side with her. And the remaining reject Moon Stones had all been destroyed as Homeworld feared they might become uncontrollable like Blood Moon Stone had.

Now in the present, Black Moon Stone is one of the surviving Gems who served under Rose Quartz. She has put her past behind her and continues to help Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl fight the remaining Corrupted Gems and protect humanity. Being a part of the Crystal Gems means Black Moon Stone has of course met Steven. But she is also very protective of him and usually sticks close by if he ever needs help (even though, with the recent couple of episodes, its clear that Steven isn't as defenseless as he used to be when the show first began). After all, Rose Quartz saved her and helped her get over her fears of being a monster. So the very least Black Moon Stone can do for her now is to protect Steven. That aside, Black Moon Stone doesn't try to act like an overprotective bodyguard whenever she is around Steven. She in fact likes to take part in Steven's human activities (very much like Amethyst does occasionally), but wises up and shows concern for his well-being whenever a situation arises. Steven is not currently aware of her past or what she can turn into, and Black Moon Stone would prefer that he never know.

Weapons:
Black Moon Stone uses a pair of tonfa arm blades in battle. The tips of these blades can curve downwards and can be used like a pair of kama scythes.  She typically prefers to fight in close combat (very much like the Moon Stones that were selected to become Soldiers rather than monsters). She summons them by crossing her arms and pressing them against the gem on her chest, the blades then appear on her arms.

Weaknesses: Unfortunately due to her being partly corrupted, Black Moon Stone is unable to fuse with other gems. Otherwise she will end up corrupting them. A Moon Stone is actually unable to fuse with any other gems without consequence besides another Moon Stone. However there is a slight benefit to this flaw, Black Moon Stone is incapable of being corrupted if she ends up fusing with a corrupted gem.

Personality: Despite her bloody history and all the innocent lives she slaughtered, Black Moon Stone prefers to keep a positive and upbeat attitude.
The primary reason she has such an upbeat personality is because she doesn't want her past or her Corrupted Gem form to define herself. Ever since getting over her fears of being nothing more than a monster, Black Moon Stone wants so desperately to act like a normal, non-corrupted Gem. That's why she learned to fight and become like the elite warrior rank of her kind. She wants others to know and see her for WHO she is, rather than WHAT she is (as the Homeworld Gems did). That being said, she does become very serious and sensitive whenever the topic of her past and past actions comes up (since she's put it all behind her and doesn't like to remember it). Working with Rose Quartz and the Crystal Gems has taught her that she can become something more than the monster she originally claimed herself to be. It has also taught her to care deeply for her fellow Gems who helped her when Homeworld did not. Because of this, Black Moon Stone harbors a tremendous amount of hatred towards Homeworld for what they did to her and forced her to do. She is also very cautious of doing anything combat-related at night as she is afraid her protective amulet might be destroyed, causing her to once again change into a monster and endanger the lives of those she now cares deeply for.
